Naming Story

About 1893 AD, Caleb Bradham, a young pharmacist from North Carolina, USA, was thinking about formulating different medicines. Soft drinks were then given to his patients as a refreshment. One of the most popular is a dark drink called "Brad's Drink," which consists of carbonated water, sugar, vanilla, a rare oil, pepsin, and cocoa beans.

In 1889, Caleb registered his own Coke trademark: Pepsi Cola. There is only one letter difference between Pepsi and Pepsin (pepsin), so Pepsi-Cola can be called "Pepsin Cola". One of Caleb's artist neighbors designed the brand's first logo.

After a century of ups and downs, Pepsi-Cola now shares the world equally with Coca-Cola, and its logo has also undergone tremendous changes. Even if the word "pepsi" is removed from today's logo, people will still completely recognize that it is the Pepsi brand.
