How to master the weight of various seasonings in cooking tutorials?

We often search for some cooking tutorials and information on the Internet. The tutorials often mention that a certain spice is XX grams. For our ordinary families, few people sell an electronic scale, so we usually weigh the spices. The concept of weight is very abstract. So today I will use pictures and text to illustrate it for you (haha, you can see that the editor is worried about life):

I found some small utensils that everyone can find, so that Relatively standard and easier to refer to.

The pictures below include: the feed bottle caps we often drink (this bottle cap is a standard bottle cap, universal and can be used to cover other feed bottles), a standard edible salt spoon, and a KFC preserved egg porridge spoon . The 1 yuan coin on the scale is used as a reference.

I took six kinds of seasonings: salt, five-spice powder, starch, sugar, Sichuan peppercorns, and cumin. Liquids are explained later. For other seasonings, you can refer to the above picture according to their density. For example, chicken essence can refer to five-spice powder.

The electronic scale I used has an error of 0.1 grams. This electronic scale has a "tare" function, which means that the scale displays the net weight of the seasoning, and the weight of the coin and spoon has been subtracted.

1. Table salt. One flat spoon of standard table salt (the net weight of table salt is 2.6 grams).

2. Salt. One flat spoon of KFC porridge (net weight of salt is about 10 grams).

3. Salt. One flat lid for beverage bottles (net weight approximately 8.8 grams).

4. Five-spice powder. One full spoonful of standard table salt (net weight approximately 1.6 grams).

5. Five-spice powder. One flat spoon of KFC porridge (net weight approximately 2.8 grams).

6. White sugar. One flat spoon of KFC porridge (net weight approximately 5.6 grams).

7. Potato starch. One full scoop of KFC porridge (net weight approximately 8.1 grams).

8. Cumin. One flat spoon of KFC porridge (net weight approximately 5.4 grams)

9. MSG. One flat spoon of KFC porridge (net weight about 6 grams).

10. Zanthoxylum bungeanum. One full spoonful of KFC porridge (net weight approximately 4.8 grams).

How to control the weight of liquids (such as soy sauce, vinegar).

Soy sauce, vinegar, these seasonings have similar specific gravity to water, and there is no need to be precise to the gram, so just know the approximate dosage.

The method is:

Look for a feed bottle and look at the "net weight" of the label on it, then find three or five rice bowls of the same size, and evenly add the drinks or water in the bottle. By pouring it out, we basically have a grasp of the weight of the bowl.

The above is for friends who have no cooking experience. Once you master it, you can control the amount of seasoning at will based on experience. In addition, the amount of seasonings in cooking materials should be adjusted according to regional differences in eating habits.
