Previously, the dispute between China Proview and Apple over the name of iPad was finally brought to court. After the first trial, Apple lost the case and tried again on February 29th at the end of the month. Once Apple loses again, it will face a fine of RMB 30 billion (equivalent to NT$ 654.38+04 billion).
China Proview's company in Shenzhen (in fact, only Shenzhen is left in China) has been taken over by the bank (creditor), and the creditor specially invited a debt restructuring consultant to deal with the problem of China Proview. Because the assets include the ownership of the iPad name in China, it also helps to solve the litigation problem with Apple, otherwise the creditors will not get their money back. In China, once a trademark is infringed, the maximum fine will be three times the sales amount. The accumulated amount of iPad in China has exceeded RMB 654.38+000 billion. If the second trial fails, the maximum fine may be 30 billion RMB.
At present, every important channel of iPad in China has been removed. How should Apple deal with Proview (with creditor banks and China behind it)? Pay and settle? Or just spend money to change the name? Even quit the China market? Anyway, this is a compromise ... Apple won't give up so easily.
