What is trademark correction? What problems should I pay attention to?
Trademark correction means that according to the Reply of the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce on the Amendment of Trademark Registration Application, the Trademark Office puts forward suggestions for modification of the contents in the trademark registration application that are not in conformity with the relevant provisions of the Trademark Law. Generally speaking, the Trademark Office requires trademark correction because some contents or materials are not in conformity with the requirements when submitting the trademark application. The purpose of correction is to make the application meet the requirements, and finally the application can be successfully applied

First, we should pay attention to the application materials submitted:

1. Reissue the application for trademark registration certificate;

2. If it is entrusted to a trademark agency, a power of attorney for trademark agency shall be submitted;

3. A copy of the subject qualification certificate (copy of business license, ID card, etc.) confirmed by the trademark registrant with seal or signature;

Secondly, we need to pay attention to the following matters:

1. The name, address, postal code and contact information of the applicant must be clearly and accurately filled in for contact.

2. If the trademark correction is handled together with the change of name, if the application for correction is made in the name of the trademark registrant before the change, the reissued Trademark Registration Certificate is in the name of the original trademark registrant; If the application for correction is made in the name of the changed trademark registrant, the name of the reissued Trademark Registration Certificate is the changed trademark registrant; If the official seal of the original trademark registrant has become invalid, the application can be stamped with the official seal of the changed trademark registrant, but the corresponding certificate issued by the administrative department for industry and commerce should be submitted.

3. If the trademark correction and transfer are handled together, if the application for correction is made in the name of the transferor, the reissued Trademark Registration Certificate is in the name of the transferor; If the application for correction is made in the name of the assignee, the reissued Trademark Registration Certificate is in the name of the assignee. Seeing this, is the procedure of trademark correction very complicated? Therefore, it is suggested that applicants should not save trouble and provide wrong or unclear information in the early stage of application, which will not only make the application procedure more complicated, but also prolong the application time.
