SS-00259 is a technical standard formulated by Sony in March 2002, revised in June 2002 and released from June 2003 to June 2003. SS-00259 is a standard guide for the management of environment-related substances in parts and materials.
1, the purpose of this standard
This technical standard aims to protect the global environment and reduce the impact on the ecosystem by defining prohibited substances, planning to abolish substances, reducing substances in Sony product parts or equipment, preventing Sony products from being mixed in, complying with national laws and regulations.
2. Scope of application of the product
Sony products designed, manufactured, sold and distributed by Sony Group. Sony products designed and manufactured by a third party entrusted by Sony Group and sold or distributed under the trademark of Sony Group. Sony Group entrusts a third party to design and manufacture products (except parts and materials designated by the third party). ?
3. Application scope of component materials
Parts, materials and other components of products designed and manufactured by Sony Group and Sony Group. Bishun meets the standards specified in SS-00259.

Sony's management regulations on environmental management substances in parts and materials, namely SS-00259, were updated to 1 6 on March, 2065438.
The version SS-00259 16 will take effect on April 20th, 20th, 20th, 8th 1. By then, the parts, materials and other articles contained in Sony Group and the products commissioned by Sony Group must meet the relevant requirements of this management regulation.
Compared with version 15, version SS-00259 16 mainly modified the following contents:
Adjustment of management level of 1, DEHP, DBP, BBP and DIBP hazardous substances: "Parts and materials used in electrical and electronic products (but parts and materials used in battery products are managed in three levels)" is adjusted from level 2 to level 1.
2. Expand the control scope of ozone-depleting substances. The controlled substances at the level of 1 have been expanded from "CFCs, halons, carbon tetrachloride, 1, 1- trichloroethane and hydrochlorofluorocarbons" of the Montreal Protocol to "Appendix A (CFCs, halons) and Appendix B (other fully halogenated CFCs and carbon tetrachloride).
3. Delete the control of the reaction product (BNST) of diphenylamine with styrene and 2,4,4-trimethylpentene.
4. Add DechloranePlus, perfluorohexylsulfonic acid and its salts, flexor and benzo [a] anthracene to the list of candidate substances authorized by EU REACH regulations. ?
5. For the limit value of lead and its compounds in batteries, the content requirement of "batteries other than the above" is changed from 0.4 wt% (4,000 ppm) to 0.2 wt% (2,000 ppm).
6. Added hardwood plywood, particleboard and medium density fiberboard, including the formaldehyde limit requirements and test methods of thin medium density fiberboard for products (such as speakers and racks).
