Working principle:
1. Fixed oil pan and oil cup
Most pad printing machines, especially large pad printing machines, generally use fixed oil Pan and oil cup, the mechanical structure of this type of pad printing machine is relatively simple but very strong. The movement of the pad print head in and out is driven by the sliding assembly. Due to the impact of the printing head sliding assembly, the pad printing head will inevitably vibrate, thereby limiting the printing speed of the machine body.
2. Movable oil pan and oil cup
The print head of the movable oil pan and oil cup only moves up and down, there is no mechanical impact, and the vibration of the print head is also reduced, so , most high-speed pad printing machines use movable oil pans and oil cups.
Printing process
Pad printing machines can be divided into open oil basin and sealed oil cup systems. The rubber head stroke action operates the same on both systems.
1. Open oil pan
(1) When the pad printing head moves forward, the oil dial fills the pattern etching printing plate with ink.
(2) When the pad printing head moves backward, the scraper scrapes off the excess ink on the steel plate, leaving only the ink on the etched part of the pattern.
2. Sealed oil cup system
(1) When the oil cup is pushed forward, the ink in the cup is sent to the etched position on the printing plate, and the ink fills it.
(2) When the oil cup returns, the ceramic ring of the oil cup will act like a scraper. The principle of transfer printing is similar to that of gravure printing. The tools include a silicone pad printing head and a patterned printing plate (steel or fiber) and ink, it can print a variety of extremely fine lines, fonts and patterns, and even four-color screen images. No matter whether the surface of the printed matter is concave, convex or irregular, it can still produce ideal printing results. For example, printing four-color trademarks on golf balls is one of the specialties of the pad printing machine. Generally, the excess ink is scraped off completely.
Five main elements of pad printing
1. Sealed oil cup: It combines the functions of sealed ink storage and scraping off excess ink.
2. Printing rubber head: This is the medium that transfers ink from the printing plate to the surface of the product.
3. Printing plate: etching printing pattern.
4. Ink: Determine the color according to the printing requirements.
5. Pad printing machine: performs transfer printing.
