This is a small round beetle larvae. Dermestidae (pí dù) belongs to the order Coleoptera and the family Dermestidae. Small and dark in color; rod-shaped antennae are often hidden under the body; tarsus has 5 segments; the base segments of the forefoot are conical and oblique, with the base segments open; the base segments of the hind legs are plate-shaped, with grooves to accommodate the leg segments; the larvae are densely covered with setae. Antennae short, 3 segments. The single eyes are located on both sides of the head, 6 on each side. Some species have long tail hairs at the end of their abdomen; they come in black, brown, red and other colors. This family of insects is commonly known as dermestid. It includes 6 subfamilies, 34 genera, and about 900 species, distributed all over the world. There are about 40 species in 8 genera known in China, which are distributed in all provinces and regions across the country and widely distributed around the world. Many species are important quarantine storage pests with miscellaneous feeding habits and serious harm, often causing serious damage to stored goods.
