Long history

Lizi Township is between 300 and 1425 meters above sea level. The terrain is high in the south and low in the north. It is surrounded by rivers on three sides and a cliff on one side. It is an independent village. Due to the mountainous terrain, the long lighting time can strengthen photosynthesis and promote the synthesis of plant chlorophyll; due to the three-dimensional terrain and prominent changes in altitude, there is a significant temperature difference between day and night, which can greatly improve the quality of plant starch. In addition, the area is sparsely populated and less polluted, making it a suitable development area for organic agriculture, especially rice.

“Although Lizi Township is far away from the county seat and has inconvenient transportation, which limits the development of industry, from another perspective, it also creates unique conditions for the development of agriculture without any pollution from industrial sources. , all are irrigated by spring water, and the agricultural products produced are all natural and pollution-free, so they have an advantage in quality," said Du Shibin, the first committee member of the township.

It is said that many years ago, the rice in Lizi Township was tribute rice from the imperial court. Especially in areas above 800 meters above sea level, the rice produced not only looked good but also tasted good. In 1999, the township sent the local black and white rice varieties to the Rice and Products Quality Supervision, Inspection and Testing Center of the Ministry of Agriculture of China for identification. The results showed that the black rice was significantly better than the best black rice in the country at that time, and the white rice was on par with the world's best. Good Thai top fragrant rice is of comparable quality.

Since then, chestnut rice has become more and more popular among consumers, and its price is significantly higher than ordinary rice.
