3. Trademark review-Trademark review is divided into two processes: formal review and substantive review.

1) Formal review

The application will be accepted within half a month after submission. Formal examination shall be conducted within one month after the application is accepted, and the application that does not meet the requirements shall be given a certain time limit for correction. If the corrected content meets the requirements, it shall enter the substantive examination procedure, and the licensing director who corrects the non-compliance may declare the application for trademark registration invalid.

2) substantive examination

generally, it takes 12 to 14 months from the application to the end of the actual examination. When the examiner finds that the application for registration meets the approval criteria after examination, he shall make an announcement on the application for trademark registration. If it does not meet the approval criteria, he shall notify the applicant and ask him to state his opinions within the specified time limit.

when the comments or corrections meet the requirements for approval and registration, an application for trademark registration shall be announced, and if it still does not meet the requirements for approval and registration, a decision of rejection shall be made.

4. Trademark announcement-After the Korean Trademark Office approves the trademark application, the trademark is allowed to be published in the Gazette, and the date of the announcement will be notified to the applicant by letter. The announcement period is 3 months. If no objection is raised or the objection is not established, the trademark can be approved for registration. If anyone raises an objection, it may be extended for another 3-5 months.

5. Approved registration —— If there is no objection in the trademark announcement or the trademark objection is ruled invalid, the trademark registration is successful.
