Pomadasyidae, Hapalogenys, fish
The picture below shows Hapalogenys kishinouyei , commonly known as the iron woman, four-banded stone perch, and longitudinal-banded mustache?
The body is long oval, with flat sides, a raised dorsal edge, and a rounded ventral edge. The head is medium to large. The snout is blunt and pointed, about as long as the diameter of the eye. The mouth is in front position, slightly slanted; the upper and lower jaws are about the same length; the jaw teeth are small and band-shaped, and the outer teeth are larger; the hoe bone, palatine bone and tongue surface are all toothless. The chin is densely covered with small mustaches; there are 3 pairs of chin holes. The body is covered with small ctenoid scales, and the bases of the dorsal and anal fins have scale sheaths; the lateral line is complete and parallel to the dorsal edge. The dorsal fin is single, with a forward lying spine in front, and a notch between the hard spine and the soft ray. The hard spine is strong, especially the IV spine; the anal fin is small, the same shape as the dorsal fin ray; the pectoral fin is small, slightly shorter than Pelvic fin; tail fin rounded. The body is light green-brown, with 4 brown longitudinal bands on the sides, one of which crosses the eye. The pelvic fins are light brown when young, gradually darkening as they grow; the hard spines of the dorsal fin and anal fin have brown fin membranes; the soft rays of the dorsal fin, caudal fin and anal fin are light in color. Distributed in the Western Pacific region, including Japan, Taiwan, Hainan Island, Philippines, Papua New Guinea and northwest Australia. Taiwan is located in the southwestern waters.
Mainly living in temperate sea areas of 3 to 50 meters, it is a benthic fish. Carnivorous, mainly small fish and crustaceans. Longitudinal mustache bream is a less common species and is usually caught by hand fishing, speargun or bottom trawl. It tastes great fried, braised or boiled into soup.
