Dandong strawberries are from Liaoning Province.

Dandong strawberry is a well-known product in Dandong City, Liaoning Province. It enjoys the protection of national agricultural product geographical indication registration. It was introduced from Japan in 1999, so it is also called "Dandong 99 strawberry". It has beautiful appearance, bright color and good taste. Sweet and rich, it is almost twice the size of ordinary strawberry varieties.

The first-crop fruits of Dandong 99 strawberries are generally on the market from the end of November to the beginning of December. Historical origins

In 2009, with the establishment of the Dandong City Cooperative, the Management Cadre College of the Ministry of Agriculture held a training course for the chairman of the farmer cooperative, and strawberry cultivation in Dandong City began to rise.

In 2010, the Dandong City Cooperative finally established a new strawberry sales model that is directly connected and developed through cooperation with large-scale fresh fruit supermarket chains. It also determined strawberry planting technical standards and recycling standards. The cooperative’s strawberries are all Planted according to standards, it has significant advantages in taste, safety and price compared to ordinary strawberries on the market.
