Liberia’s Patent, Copyright and Trademark Law was promulgated on May 24, 2020 and came into effect on August 12 of that year.
Liberia protects trademarks and service marks. Trademark registration adopts the first-to-file principle. There are no regulations on commodity classification. Trademarks or service marks apply to all goods and services.
Liberia is a member state of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property and the Madrid Agreement on the International Registration of Marks.
