Bufle is a dessert shop located in Regent Street, London, England. It mainly deals in eggs, fried yogurt, bubble tea, alcoholic drinks and snacks. The brand name Bufle is named after ——Waffle, which is similar to the idea of making eggs. Although the main product is Chinese snacks, customers hope that the overall design is biased towards Japanese style, because local audiences in the UK generally believe that Japanese food is clean and high-grade, which is convenient for improving the gross profit margin in the store. Another requirement is more troublesome, because of some special reasons in business, the above products want to have their own logo, and it is related to Bufle's main logo.
In short, the situation we are facing now is:
1, design a dessert Logo.
2. should this Logo reflect oriental elements?
This logo should be easy to expand.
Container identification needs a simple and clean framework. In this case, we decided to use an approximately circular structure.
Because most of the high-concentration aqueous solutions of sugars in nature have high viscosity, it is easy to associate "sweet" with viscous liquids if they are matched with warm colors. This container-like frame is to show the effect of pouring honey from the bottle mouth. Considering the late extension, a more conservative scheme was finally chosen.
What is the use of drawing rings in Logo design? Of course, you can use Bezier curve to complete this complex graph directly, but the efficiency is too low. It is a common method to deal with continuous curves by tangent circle, which is far from the energy ratio of bare hands in terms of efficiency and fineness.
The next step is to put something into this container. If you need to spread information to people from different cultural backgrounds, then words and colors are important media to express your style.
Speaking of Japan, any red circle on a white rectangle can make people think of this country. In writing, I finally chose the word "Yi", which is another name of maltose in Chinese and Japanese writing. Idioms are rarely seen and used in China now. On the other hand, Japan has retained the usage of ancient proverbs such as "Xi".
In order to emphasize the oriental elements, we adopted the vertical arrangement which is seldom used in western typesetting, and the use of dividing lines made the regional characteristics of the whole Logo more obvious. At this point, the design of Bufle brand main Logo is completed.
The above picture shows the categories of LOGO extended from the main LOGO, namely eggs, fried yogurt, milk tea, alcoholic drinks and snacks. It can be seen that the container logo is characterized by high consistency and independent identification after expansion, which is suitable for occasions where multiple themes need to be expressed or multiple sub-brands are owned.
