Henan Museum, formerly known as Henan Provincial Museum, was founded in the 16th year of the Republic of China (1927) under the leadership of Feng Yuxiang. The former site is located at No.31Sansheng Street, Longting District, Kaifeng City.
After several changes, the former site of the museum was moved to Zhengzhou at 196 1, and the new museum was completed and opened at 1 May 1998/. The museum site is located in Nongye Road, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, with an exhibition area of 1 10,000 square meters and a collection of cultural relics of10.4 million pieces.

Most of the cultural relics in the collection come from archaeological excavations in Anyang, Xichuan, Luoyang, Shangqiu, Kaifeng, Sanmenxia, Huixian, Xinzheng and Anyang in the early 20th century, amounting to over130,000 pieces, among which prehistoric cultural relics, Shang and Zhou bronzes, ancient ceramics and jade articles are the most distinctive.
Among them, there are more than 5,000 national first-class cultural relics and national second-class cultural relics, which have important historical, cultural and artistic values. Some of the collections are known as the heavy weapons of the country and have been reported many times by CCTV national treasure archives.
