Each tablet of this product contains 300mg of dry extract of St. John's wort, in which hypericin content is not less than 9mg and total hypericin is not less than 0.4mg.

This product is a yellowish brown film-coated tablet with a brown core and a bitter and slightly sweet taste.

Pharmacological effects St. John's wort extract tablets have various antidepressant effects;

St John's wort extract tablet can inhibit the reabsorption of norepinephrine (ne), serotonin (5HT) and dopamine (DA) by presynaptic membrane at the same time, and increase the concentration of three neurotransmitters in synaptic cleft. At the same time, it also slightly inhibited monoamine oxidase (MAO) and catechol O-methyltransferase (COMT), thus inhibiting the excessive damage of neurotransmitters.

drug interaction

St. John's wort extract tablets may reduce the therapeutic effect of cyclosporine or coumarin anticoagulants (such as warfarin and phenylcoumarin). In some cases, the combination of oral contraceptives can lead to subcutaneous bleeding.

During the treatment of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), it should be avoided to take St. John's wort extract tablets together with protease inhibitors such as indinavir (hydroxyvinylamine), because St. John's wort extract tablets may reduce the blood concentration of protease inhibitors.
