What I like is all self-service. The price is similar to that of a tour group, but the time can last for a long time. I suggest you go in June, when air tickets are cheaper.

1. If you want to book air tickets now, go to the discount website. It is quite cheap. From Shanghai Airport to Bangkok, Thailand, it only costs 850 yuan, and the return trip to Beijing is 1,000 yuan. The round trip is just over 2,000 yuan, because tax is added.

2. For accommodation, it is good to rent a house locally. In the center of Bangkok, a medium-to-high-end house with air conditioning costs RMB 1,200 a month. For a hotel, it will cost about 200 yuan a day.

If you have plenty of time, this is quite cost-effective. If you are short of time, then go for a self-guided tour with a tour group. The general price for 7 days is about 6,000, and the self-guided tour is about 2,000 more expensive than the ordinary tour group. If it is your first time, you can actually join the ordinary one. Tour groups must ask if there are any hidden expenses.

Bangkok and Phuket are popular tourist destinations for China. They are quite good and very representative.
