theGanjiangRiver is the seventh tributary of the Yangtze River and the largest river in Jiangxi Province. It was called Yanghan, Huhan and Ganshui in ancient times, with a drainage area of 81,6 square kilometers, accounting for 51% of the area of Jiangxi Province. With wanan county and Xingan County as the boundary, it is divided into three sections: upstream, middle and downstream, with a total length of 1,2 kilometers including Gongshui.

There are many reefs and shoals in the middle and upper reaches, and the water is fast. The downstream river is wide and has many sandbars. The main tributaries are Xinjiang and Jinjiang. Navigation is possible below Ganzhou. In the old days, the coastal areas were the traffic links between the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and Guangdong and Guangxi.
