Collection process

In June 2009, Fuzhou City Metro Co., Ltd. launched a collection activity for Fuzhou City Metro logos (LOGO), aiming to reflect Fuzhou City Metro’s people-oriented and harmonious sea. The concept of Western and fashionable transportation highlights the characteristics of fashion, speed, economy, comfort, convenience, safety, technology, and digitalization, and demonstrates Fuzhou’s profound cultural heritage and distinctive regional characteristics.

As of July 22, 2009, *** had received 2,573 submissions. The entries came from more than 20 provinces, cities and regions, and there were also entries from Australia, Japan, Spain and other countries. . After review by experts and the organizing committee, the top 50 finalists for the Fuzhou Metro logo were selected, and a public vote was held from August 25 to August 31, 2009. The 20 most popular Fuzhou urban subway signs from the public were selected based on the number of votes and participated in the third round of selection. Finally, through expert review, the work of Fuzhou brand designer Huang Cheng was selected as the Fuzhou Metro logo.

In April 2011, the Fuzhou Metro logo was approved and registered by the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.

Design Concept

Fuzhou is also known as the Banyan City because of the banyan trees planted everywhere. Therefore, the Fuzhou subway logo uses banyan trees as the basic design elements and adds the concept of "three mountains and one water" (Yu Shan , Wushan, Pingshan, Minjiang), making the logo more concentratedly reflect the regional characteristics of Fuzhou and have strong recognition and recognition. The color of the logo uses "Rongcheng Green", which represents the banyan tree, as the standard color, reflecting the green, environmentally friendly, fast and convenient visual experience of the subway. The successful holding of the first National Youth Games in Fuzhou made the lively, cute and blessed mascot "Rongrong" widely familiar and recognized, and its healthy, lively, friendly and cute image It has been deeply rooted in people's hearts. After expert discussion and deliberation, the mascot of the First National Youth Games "Rong Rong" finally became the mascot of Fuzhou Metro.

The appearance of "Rongrong" takes Fuzhou's city tree, the banyan tree, as the main design theme, fully demonstrating the local characteristics of Fuzhou and complementing the Fuzhou Metro's logo. Green symbolizes environmental protection and vitality, which is in line with the environmental protection and energy-saving characteristics of the subway. It also vividly interprets the vitality and hope of rail transit, an emerging transportation industry, and is in line with the "green subway happy shuttle" concept advocated by Fuzhou Metro; in addition, the banyan tree embodies Its characteristics of taking root on the ground, luxuriant branches, nurturing future generations and benefiting the whole country also symbolize the spiritual character of Fuzhou people.

Collection Process

Fuzhou Metro Mascot Collection Activity is hosted by Fuzhou City Metro Co., Ltd. It aims to reflect the urban characteristics of Fuzhou and the characteristics of subway transportation, and is based on the "city spirit" and The corporate mission of "speeding up Fuzhou Tianfu Rongcheng" spreads the corporate spirit of "deep roots and luxuriant leaves benefiting a place". While conveying brand value, it highlights the characteristics of the city; on the basis of nurturing culture, it conveys a sense of modernity; in Fuzhou Metro " The slogan "Green Metro Happy Shuttle" reflects the good image of serving the public.

The mascot collection activity was launched in early May 2015. The collection phase includes: work collection period, expert preliminary evaluation period, public voting period, final evaluation period, and award announcement period.

From June 15th to July 15th, 2015, Fuzhou Metro officially solicited Fuzhou Metro mascots from across the country.

As of 24:00 on July 15, 2015, *** received 210 submissions from all over the country.

On August 27, 2015, Fuzhou Metro issued an announcement to continue soliciting mascots from September 8, 2015 to October 30, 2015.

Two rounds of public collection were conducted across the country from June 15 to October 30, 2015, with a total of 425 works collected. After preliminary evaluation and re-evaluation meetings, 10 shortlisted works were determined.

From 12:00 on March 8, 2016 to 12:00 on March 14, 10 shortlisted works were voted on for a week on the Internet.

On the morning of March 18, 2016, the final evaluation meeting of Fuzhou Metro mascots was held.

On March 21, 2016, the Fuzhou Metro Company officially announced the results of the Fuzhou Metro mascot collection.

Because Fuzhou subway mascots must reflect Fuzhou’s characteristic culture, urban culture and rail transit industry characteristics, the shortlisted works cannot meet the Fuzhou subway mascot solicitation requirements, lack Fuzhou cultural characteristic elements, and fail to fully reflect Fuzhou’s regional characteristics. and spiritual and cultural connotations are not enough to represent the "image" of the subway and Fuzhou city, therefore, the "first prize" is vacant. Since it was found that the work No. 3, "Rong Rong" and the work No. 10, "Peter Pan, Little Lucky Star" were "multiple submissions in one draft", these two works were disqualified from the award.

Except for the first prize, the other works won the following: 1 second prize, "Five Blessings" Sun Hongjun (Songbei District, Harbin City); 2 third prizes, "Fubao" Chen Xinquan (Jiangsu) Xuzhou City, Yunnan Province), "Luck" Fan Chunhong (Ruili City, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province); 5 winners of the Excellence Award, "Luck" Tang Xiaolong (Baoting County, Hainan Province), "Lucky One" Xiao Bing (Minhang District, Shanghai) ), "Fuzi" Zheng Zhifu (Taijiang District, Fuzhou City), "Yimei" Yang Jing (Guiyang City, Guizhou Province), and "Dudu" Xiao Bing (Minhang District, Shanghai City).

After the results of the solicitation were announced, the city subway company received many calls and letters from citizens, suggesting that the first National Youth Games mascot "Rongrong" should be used as the subway mascot. On April 10, 2016, the subway company convened experts to review this proposal. After deliberation, the subway company decided to use "Rongrong", the mascot of the first National Youth Games, as the mascot of Fuzhou Metro.
