Rock climbing needs to stand on the rock wall at different angles and do continuous turns, pull-ups and jumps, so it is called ballet on the cliff. Rock climbing is a kind of upward climbing on natural or man-made rock walls, which is usually classified as extreme sports. Rock climbing requires people to constantly complete thrilling movements such as turning, pull-ups, prancing and even jumping on rock walls of various heights and angles, which integrates fitness, entertainment and competition.
Sports rock climbing is a form of free rock climbing, which refers to the climbing wall (artificial rock field or natural rock wall) with permanent protection points (also known as fixed points and fulcrums, such as pins) pre-installed by pioneer rock climbing. When climbing on the artificial or natural rock wall with protective pads, there is no need to place protective pads, just tie a fast rope for protection.
Introduction to the types of rock climbing
1, free climbing: that is, climbing by the climber's own strength without any equipment. This form is dominant in China, which is more in line with the significance of sports. This paper mainly tests the comprehensive climbing ability of climbers from the aspects of difficulty, speed and climbing. Free climbing can be divided into sports climbing and traditional climbing.
2. Sports climbing: that is, climbing on the line with safety protection points (stations). This kind of rock climbing is very safe and easy to carry out, and it is mainly used for competitive competitions, athlete training and beginners' experience.
3. Traditional climbing: climbing on the route without any artificial protection measures in advance. All protective measures need to be temporarily set by the leader according to the characteristics of the route and accumulated experience, and the followers will collect all the protective equipment set on the route, so that in principle, no equipment will be left during the whole climbing process and the rock surface will not be damaged. All traditional rock climbing can be considered as a "green climbing" method.
