There are obvious errors in the trademark application documents. Can the applicant apply for correction?
According to the provisions of the Trademark Law, if an applicant for trademark registration finds that there are obvious errors in the trademark application documents, he may apply for correction. The Trademark Office shall make corrections within the scope of its functions and powers according to law and notify the parties concerned. However, correcting the errors in the application documents should not involve the substantive contents of the trademark application documents. For example, changing the characters and graphics in trademark design, changing the types of goods or services, and changing the names of goods and services specified in the application all belong to changing the substantive contents of trademark application documents and are not included in the application for correction.
