The examination of trademark applications by the Intellectual Property Office includes formal examination and substantive examination. The Intellectual Property Office shall conduct formal examination within 1 month after receiving the application, and issue a notice of acceptance to those who meet the requirements. After the formal examination is passed, it enters the substantive examination, that is, it examines whether the trademark applied for registration meets the conditions stipulated in the Trademark Law, and makes a decision on registration or rejection according to the substantive examination.
