1. Prepare application documents

The request for substantive examination may be made at the time of filing the application or within 3 years from the date of filing (priority date).
2. Submit an application to the Patent Office
Select one of the following submission methods:
Paper version application: delivered in person or mailed to the reception hall of the Patent Office or the representative offices of patent offices around the country.
E-application: The document submission can be edited by the CPC client or submitted online by using the web version of the e-application system.
3. The Patent Office is subject to review.

Qualified: issue an admission notice and pay the application fee.

Application fee for invention patent: 900 yuan, publishing and printing fee: 50 yuan, substantive examination fee: 2,500 yuan.
If the fee waiver is filed and passed the examination and approval, and the fee waiver is required at the time of application, the application fee and substantive examination fee will be reduced by 70% and 85% respectively according to different situations, and the paid-in amount is 1070 yuan or 560 yuan.
