On November 30, 2007, Meng Xiangbin took his wife and daughter to Wucheng District, Jinhua for shopping. While passing Tongji Bridge, a young woman committed suicide and jumped from the bridge more than 10 meters high. Meng Xiangbin rushed to the bridge, took off his clothes and dived to save her. Ten minutes later, the motorboat that came to the rescue gradually approached them. Meng Xiangbin used his last strength to lift the young woman out of the water and handed her into the hands of the rescuers. However, he sank into the water, and the 28-year-old young man lost his life.
