Hongmei Enterprise was founded in 1939 and was restructured in 1998 to form Hongmei Enterprise Group. It has a 70-year history of fermentation industrial production. The group includes Shenyang Hongmei MSG Co., Ltd. and Shenyang Hongmei Biotechnology. Co., Ltd., Shenyang Hongmei Condiment Co., Ltd., Shenyang Hongmei Trading Co., Ltd., and Shenyang Hongmei Xinmao Technology Co., Ltd. It is a large state-owned enterprise group supported by Liaoning Province and Shenyang Municipal Government.

In 1979, China began to restore its emphasis on product quality, and Hongmei MSG won the Gold Medal. The certificate issued by the China Economic Commission read: "Your factory's Hongmei MSG products have been approved by the National Quality Award The committee approved the award of the gold medal and issued this certificate. ”

In April 1997, Hongmei MSG was recognized as a well-known trademark in China by the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce - the first well-known trademark in the MSG industry. , is also the first Chinese well-known trademark in Shenyang City, even Liaoning and Northeast China, filling the gap of no well-known trademark in Northeast China.

In 1998, the company was restructured and established the Hongmei Enterprise Group. Red plum MSG was once a famous brand product in Shenyang. It was an excellent gift from Shenyang people to relatives and friends many years ago, but it has gradually been "marginalized".

In recent years, MSG has become a "backward production capacity" and is restricted by national policies. It is also an important reason for the decline of Hongmei Group.

Under the influence of many factors, Shenyang Hongmei Group has been overwhelmed in the past decade and applied to the court for bankruptcy on April 27, 2012.

In 2013, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued target tasks for eliminating backward production capacity in 19 industrial sectors, and the pace of eliminating backward production capacity for MSG has accelerated significantly.

On May 28, 2014, Hongmei Enterprise was officially ruled bankrupt by the court.
