BIS certification in India
I. Introduction to the Certification of the Bank for International Settlements

BIS certification is an Indian national certification formulated and supervised by Indian Bureau of Standards. This is a quality standard and market access system for controlling products sold in India. BIS is headquartered in New Delhi, India, with five regional bureaus and 19 sub-bureaus and eight laboratories. Eight laboratories and some independent laboratories are responsible for testing the samples taken during product certification. These laboratories are implemented according to ISO/IEC17025:1999.

BIS certification includes product registration and product certification, aiming at different products:

1, BIS-ISI control products involve many fields, including steel and building materials, chemicals, medical care, household appliances, automobiles, food, textiles and so on. Certification requires not only testing in recognized Indian laboratories and meeting the standard requirements, but also factory inspection by BIS auditors.

2.BIS registration (BIS-CRS) mainly controls products in the field of electronics and electricity, including audio-visual products, information technology products, lighting products, batteries and photovoltaic products. Certification needs to be tested by an accredited Indian laboratory and meet the standard requirements, and then the official website system registration is completed.

Second, the scope of BIS CRS products

Since July 20 13, BIS has stipulated that many products must be registered compulsorily.
