All kinds of beef and mutton are neatly arranged in the restaurant. At first glance, I thought it was preparing for a whole day's meal. After listening to the introduction of the local people, I realized that this is the breakfast prepared by Mongolians on weekdays. In the south of China, you usually eat fried dough sticks and soybean milk in the morning, while in the north, pasta and porridge are the main foods. Why did Inner Mongolia start eating meat for breakfast? I think this should be related to the weather and living habits in Inner Mongolia. The temperature of MINUS 20-30 degrees needs enough energy to fight the cold in the morning. Children in the grassland are strong, which is also related to their usual eating habits.
Approaching the yurt and looking at a table full of big meals, I found that I really wanted less. Our Mongolian breakfast was presented in front of my eyes, such as mutton, roast leg of lamb and Mongolian pie.
There are six kinds of milk food on the breakfast table: white oil, butter, milk skin, milk tofu, cheese and milk fruit. The taste of Mongolian dairy products is very different from the dairy products we usually eat. Thick milk fragrance will leave a long taste between lips and teeth.
Milk tea is a traditional hot drink of Mongolian people. It is cooked with brick tea and milk. Generally, it can be served with pastry and other pasta, which has the functions of warming stomach, quenching thirst, relieving hunger and helping digestion. Mongolians love tea very much and regard it as "the immortal elixir". In the past, a piece of tea could be exchanged for a sheep or a cow. There is a custom of "replacing sheep with tea" on the grassland as a gift for friends. Moreover, I want to make it clear that Mongolian milk tea is not the milk tea we usually drink, but it can really satisfy our hunger.
