History
Liyang County was established in the 26th year of Qin Shihuang (221 BC). In the first year of Wuhuangwu of the Three Kingdoms (222), the county was abolished and renamed Pingling, which belonged to Yongping County. The original name was restored in the first year of Taikang in the Western Jin Dynasty (280). In the 18th year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty (598), Liyang was merged into Lishui County. In the third year of Tang Wude's reign (620), Lishui was analyzed and Liyang County was established.
