Usually overdue credit cards, illegal cash withdrawals, and risky transactions will cause card blocking. So what should we do if our credit card is blocked?
1. Call customer service: If the cardholder has his credit limit reduced or blocked due to an overdue credit card, he should pay off the balance immediately, then call the customer service of the card issuing bank to explain the situation and ensure that he pays it back on time. The payment can generally be unblocked.
2. Provide transaction notes: Generally, there are transaction risks when using credit cards. For the sake of fund security, banks will take measures to cut interest rates and block cards. If this happens, the cardholder can cash out the consumption suspected of being used. Submit the invoice or POS document to the bank. After verification, the bank will unblock it for you.
3. Apply for a new card: After the credit card is blocked, the cardholder can choose to apply for a new credit card of a different card type and apply to unblock the old card. Generally, the bank will unblock the card.
4. Overseas consumption: After a credit card is used for cross-regional or cross-border consumption transactions, banks will generally block the credit card out of the principle of protecting the security of the credit card. The cardholder can call the card-issuing bank and prove that it was done by him/her, and the block will be automatically unblocked.
5. Bill installment: If the cardholder has serious violations and cannot use the credit card for consumption on the next billing day, he can apply for installment to solve the problem. After repayment for a period of time, he can continue to use it.
