3. Legal basis: Article 8 of the Regulations on Resident Identity Cards: If the validity period of a resident identity card expires, or the registered contents are changed or corrected, or the certificate is severely damaged and unrecognizable, it shall be declared for renewal in accordance with the regulations; If the certificate is lost, it should be reissued.
ID card replacement process:
I. Acceptance
The applicant shall submit the following certificates to the police station:

If the ID card expires, it will bring inconvenience if it is not reissued:
1. Failure to reissue expired ID cards will cause some businesses to be suspended. A number of banks have informed the public that individual customers whose identity documents have not been updated for more than 90 days will suspend their business.
2. If the customer's previously submitted identity certificate or identity certificate has expired, and the customer fails to update it within a reasonable period of time without giving a reasonable reason, the financial institution shall stop handling business for the customer.
3. Failure to reissue the expired ID card will also affect the flight. According to the regulations of the Civil Aviation Administration, the second-generation ID cards of domestic flight passengers can still be used as valid flight documents within half a year after the expiration; However, if the second-generation ID card expires for more than half a year, it is not allowed to board the plane with a certificate. You can't pass the security check by plane with expired documents.
4. If the second-generation ID card expires, or the old card has been recovered, the new card has not been issued, and the temporary id card has not been set up, different banks have different service restrictions on the expired ID card.
