Migrant workers didn't pay social security when they were young. How can they spend their old age after they are 6? In this regard, we put forward the following suggestions:

First, village-run factories and village-run factories should provide rural elderly people after the age of 6 with some jobs that they can do, even if they are 6 or 7 years old, it is not a problem. Or the elderly in rural areas go to the fields to plant vegetables and fruits themselves, or engage in aquaculture and sell them in the market. This multi-pronged approach can also solve the basic survival problem.

second, if the elderly in rural areas are too old to farm, they can give the land or fish ponds to others to do. At the same time, you can rent out your own house and collect rent. If your home is close to the highway and there is a large flow of people, you can open a small supermarket or collect waste products, so you can spend your old age.

Third, government departments should improve the pension insurance benefits for migrant workers. Only when the pension insurance benefits for farmers in their later years are improved can they basically maintain their own survival needs, then more young migrant workers will participate in the pension insurance for urban and rural residents.

fourthly, in order to set up a charity fund for the aged in rural areas, the state will also allocate part of its fiscal revenue and call on all sectors of society to contribute to the fund. This can provide basic survival guarantee for those old migrant workers who have lost their ability to work.

In the future, more and more migrant workers will return home to provide for the aged, so it is also a thorny social problem for migrant workers to provide for the aged. Our country should not only improve the basic pension benefits for farmers, so that the old farmers can get the most basic pension income, but also set up a rural pension charity fund to give living subsidies to those old farmers who are unable to work, so that they can live in their old age.

Of course, old farmers can also get some income by lending their land, fish ponds or houses to others. We believe that only through multi-pronged approach and concerted efforts of all parties can the living conditions of old farmers in China be greatly improved in their later years.
