The difference between Pearl River and Xijiang River: different concepts, different scope.

Pearl River:

Pearl River Basin, also known as Pearl River Basin, includes Pearl River Basin, Hanjiang River Basin, international rivers east of Lancang River (excluding Lancang River) and coastal rivers of Guangdong and Guangxi, involving 8 provinces (autonomous regions) such as Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Guangdong, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian and Hainan, and Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, with a total area of 654,300 square kilometers and an average total water resources of 520 1 for many years.

Meteorology of Pearl River:

The Pearl River Basin is located in the subtropical zone, and the Tropic of Cancer runs through the middle of the basin, with a mild and rainy climate. The annual average temperature is between 14 ~ 22℃, and the annual average rainfall is 1200 ~ 2200mm. The rainfall distribution obviously decreases gradually from east to west, and the rainfall distribution is uneven during the year, with great regional differences and great interannual changes.

Xijiang:

Xijiang River is the mainstream of the Pearl River Basin and the third largest river in China. Originated in Maxiong Mountain, Zhanyi District, Qujing City, Yunnan Province, it flows through Guizhou and Guangxi, reaches Sixianjiao, Sanshui District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, joins Beijiang River and enters the Pearl River Delta network river area. Its main stream flows into the South China Sea at Modaomen Waterway in Zhuhai.

Xijiang River is divided into Nanpanjiang River, Hongshui River, Qianjiang River, Jiang Xun River and Xijiang River from upstream to downstream. The main tributaries are Beipanjiang, Liujiang, Yujiang, Gui Jiang and Hejiang, and the main tributaries flowing into Guangdong are Hejiang, Luoding and Xinxing. The main stream of Xijiang River has a total length of 22 14 km, with an average annual total water resources of 230.2 billion cubic meters and a drainage area of about 353 1000 square kilometers, which flows through five provinces (autonomous regions).

Xijiang has a long history, and different sections of the main stream have different names in history. From the source to Zhexiang Village, Wangmo County, Guizhou Province, it is called Nanpanjiang, from Shilong Town, Xiangzhou County, Laibin City, Guangxi Province, it is called Hongshui River, from Shilong Town to Guiping City, it is called Qianjiang, from Guiping City to Wuzhou City, and from Wuzhou City to Sixianjiao, Sanshui District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, it is called Xijiang.
