Harry moved to Hong Kong when he was a child, 1937 enrolled in King's College, and soon learned Cantonese and English. By 1940, he even went to the University of Hong Kong to study medicine in advance when 17 years old. As for the beginning of the university, Harry's family was not rich, but thanks to the help of the pastor in the university, a food storage room was transformed into a dormitory, and he had a place to live in the university. It was only at 194 1 that the Pacific War broke out and the Japanese invaded Hong Kong. During this period, Harry Fang participated in the defending war against the Japanese army in Hong Kong. Once he was shot by a Japanese sniper on the way to rescue an injured car and almost died.
After the Japanese occupied Hong Kong, the university closed, so Harry managed to sneak back to the mainland and later worked as a manager in a soy sauce factory. From 1943 to 1947, Harry continued to study at Chongqing National Shanghai Medical College. Later, Hong Kong resumed classes at the University of Hong Kong, and Fang Xinrong returned to Hong Kong to continue his studies. At 1948, Harry's wartime heroic achievements were revealed, and the British court awarded him the National Defense Medal in recognition. Harry Fang finally 1949 graduated from HKU. Although he entered school one year earlier, he was 26 when he graduated because of the war.
After graduating from the University of Hong Kong, Harry Fang worked as an assistant lecturer in surgery at the University of Hong Kong from 1950 to 1952. After that, he was funded by the Sino-British Fund at 1953 and went to the University of Liverpool for further study. 1955 graduated and obtained the qualification of orthopedic specialist. Then I returned to Hong Kong and worked as an orthopedic lecturer at the University of Hong Kong from 1956 to 1958. Because there was a shortage of orthopedic surgeons in Hongkong in the 1950' s, Harry Fang was reused. 1957- 1974, once worked as an orthopedic consultant in tung wah hospital and Grantham Hospital. In addition, from 1958 to 196 1, he worked as an orthopedic expert in a government hospital. Later, Fang Xinrang worked as an orthopedic consultant in ruttonjee hospital and the Duchess of Ghent Children's Hospital for many years (since 1956), as an honorary lecturer in the University of Hong Kong (since 1958) and as an orthopedic consultant in Madame Dailinzhi Rehabilitation Hospital (since 1962). In addition, he also worked as an orthopedic consultant in Hong Kong An Hospital, Caritas Medical Center and Yanghe Hospital. In a word, I have gained a lot of fame as an orthopedic surgeon in various hospitals.
Harry Fang is also very concerned about the disabled. On July 1959 and 15, Harifang founded hong kong society for rehabilitation, which is dedicated to providing help to the disabled. Hong kong society for rehabilitation has made great contributions to the rehabilitation people in Hongkong, so that he is known as the "father of rehabilitation", and he later became the deputy patron of hong kong society for rehabilitation.
