Logo description: This logo represents the three main research directions of the Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences: mineral deposit geochemistry, environmental geochemistry, and deep earth material and fluid interaction geochemistry.
The green lines form a symbol of the earth, and the retort in the center represents chemistry, highlighting the meaning of geochemistry.
The shape of the retort indicates the intrusion of magma into the earth's crust and mineralization, representing the geochemistry of the mineral deposit.
The longitude and latitude lines of the earth and its background are represented in green, symbolizing the protection of the earth's environment and representing environmental geochemistry.
The sine wave curve in the retort represents the physical properties and fluid interaction geochemistry of the deep earth.
The shape of the logo is in the shape of a diamond, which is expensive and has the highest hardness. It represents the hard work, pioneering and innovation of the Institute of Geochemistry people to build the Institute of Geochemistry into a first-class research institute.
The Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences regularly holds various cultural activities in the staff department and graduate department of the institute, such as the Spring Festival party and spring outing of the staff department, basketball games and badminton games held by the graduate student union, etc.
On December 20, 2015, under the organization of the Student Union, the institute organized the "First Winter Badminton Tournament of the Institute of Geochemistry".
The purpose of the competition is to cultivate the team spirit of students and employees, enhance the physical fitness of scientific researchers, promote friendship between teachers and students, create a confident, sunny, energetic and unyielding scientific research atmosphere, and at the same time showcase the youthful vitality of the Institute of Geochemistry.
More than 40 teachers and students signed up for the event, and dozens of competitions were held in total.
