The Institute of Human and Animal Diseases of Jilin University is my country's first specialized institution engaged in research on human and animal diseases. It was established in January 2006. Insect diseases are the main research direction.
The Institute of Human and Animal Disease Epidemiology has the country’s first batch of doctoral programs in the epidemiology of human and animal disease, a key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, a research center for human and animal disease, and an innovation team of the Ministry of Education.
It is an important part of the national key discipline of preventive veterinary medicine.
There are currently 42 scientific researchers, including 1 dual-appointed academician, 23 professors (8 dual-span and visiting professors), 7 associate professors, 1 senior laboratory technician, 5 lecturers, 4 laboratory technicians, and 1 teaching assistant.
1 assistant laboratory engineer; including 3 winners of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, 2 national-level candidates for the "New Century Talents Project", 2 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions to the country, and 1 winner of the China Youth Science and Technology Award.
The General Logistics Department has 5 "three-star" talents; 1 executive member of the international related professional committee, 1 chairman of the national second-level society, 10 vice-chairmen and vice-chairmen, 4 standing directors, and the Discipline Evaluation Committee of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee
1 group member.
With the outbreak and epidemic of human-animal diseases such as SARS and highly pathogenic avian influenza, the world's attention has focused on human-animal diseases.
In response to the severe situation of raging human-animal diseases, Jilin University fully integrated the resources of the Department of Agriculture, the Ministry of Medicine and other related disciplines to promptly establish the first domestic and foreign research institute on human-animal diseases, so as to make human-animal diseases more accessible.
Disease research realizes the organic integration of veterinary medicine and medicine.
The Department of Agriculture of Jilin University has a good foundation in related disciplines and scientific research advantages. Its predecessor was the former PLA Military Supplies University and has a history of more than 100 years of veterinary education and research.
Among them, the discipline of preventive veterinary medicine is a national key discipline. It has long been responsible for the prevention and treatment of important animal diseases, the molecular biology of the pathogens of important animal diseases, and the research on human and animal diseases, especially in avian influenza, SARS, foot-and-mouth disease, rabies, glanders, and Trichinella.
Remarkable results have been achieved in research on diseases of human and animal diseases such as parasitic diseases.
It has successively undertaken more than 300 key projects of the “863”, “973”, the 11th Five-Year Plan for major infectious diseases, major national military projects, National Natural Science Foundation, national, military and provincial and ministerial levels, and won 800 various teaching and research achievement awards.
The remaining items have unique scientific research advantages in specializing in research on human and animal diseases.
Since its establishment, the Institute of Human and Animal Disease has gradually formed a research direction focusing on the pathogenesis and safety evaluation of food-borne human and animal viruses. It has hosted a total of 74 scientific research projects with a contract funding of 5,290
Ten thousand yuan.
Among them, there are 2 National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 2 National 973 Program sub-projects, 2 National 863 Programs, 5 key sub-projects, 2 Eleventh Five-Year Science and Technology Support Plans, 2 Eleventh Five-Year Major Infectious Disease Special Projects, and the National
1 major basic research project, 1 EU Fifth Research Framework project, 1 International Science Foundation project, 1 Sino-Japanese international cooperation project, 36 National Natural Science Foundation general projects and Youth Science Fund projects, Ministry of Education Innovation Team projects
1 project, 17 provincial and ministerial-level major and key projects and other projects, and 1 horizontal collaboration project with domestic and foreign enterprises and institutions.
Compiled and published two professional textbooks for colleges and universities, "Food Pathogen Microbiology" and "Veterinary Public Hygiene", and one monograph "Human and Animal Disease Epidemiology". He has obtained 1 international invention patent and 7 national invention patents.
Project, published 261 research papers (including 107 SCI papers).
The acquisition of these results further established the laboratory's domestic and foreign academic status in related research fields to a certain extent.
The Institute of Human and Animal Diseases currently has 58 doctoral students and 137 master's students, thus establishing a development model for the laboratory that is dominated by high-result output and high-level talent training.
The existing scientific research space of the Institute of Human and Animal Diseases is about 3,000 square meters, and it has nearly 20 million yuan of instruments and equipment, including transmission electron microscopes, laser focus microscopes, scanning electron microscopes, ultrathin microtome, dual-wavelength
Thin-layer scanners, ultracentrifuges, fluorescence quantitative PCR machines, universal research microscopes and other advanced equipment, including 4 high-precision instruments and equipment worth more than one million yuan and 16 pieces of more than 300,000 yuan per piece, provide a good foundation for scientific research.
platform.
All the faculty and staff of the institute strive to build the Institute of Human-Beast Diseases into an international innovative institute with high-level talent training, high-quality achievement transformation, and high-level academic exchanges through a period of hard work, and strive to become a top-level research institute for human-animal diseases.
