Changing the supporting unit: From July 4, 2023, postdoctoral fellows who cancel general programs, youth science fund programs and regional science fund programs may not change the restrictions of supporting units. Those who meet the relevant regulations after examination and can support and guarantee their normal scientific research work after the change are allowed to change their supporting units.
7. Opening of Hong Kong and Macao: Since 2024, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars has been opened to supporting units in Hong Kong and Macao, and the Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (Hong Kong and Macao) has been merged into the Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Hong Kong, Macao and the Mainland have the same application conditions and evaluation procedures, and they compete on the same stage and receive preferential funding.
