The fund custodian company, that is, the "fund custodian", is a fund party who directly controls and manages the fund property according to the provisions of the fund contract and carries out specific fund operations according to the instructions of the fund manager. The fund custodian is the representative of investors' rights and interests, and is the nominal holder or management institution of fund assets. In order to ensure the safety of fund assets, the Fund shall operate according to the principle of separation of asset management and custody, and the fund assets shall be kept by special fund custodians.
According to the Securities Investment Fund Law, the fund custodian is a commercial bank or other financial institution established according to law. Among them, if a commercial bank acts as a fund custodian, it must be approved by the the State Council securities regulatory agency in conjunction with the the State Council banking regulatory agency.
