4. International Greenpeace
In p>1971, 12 people with the same dream set sail from Vancouver, Canada, and sailed for Amchitka Island to stop the nuclear test conducted by the United States there. They hung a banner on the fishing boat that said "Greenpeace". Despite being blocked by the US military in the middle, their actions triggered public opinion and public solidarity. The following year, the United States abandoned its nuclear test on Anchika Island. In the following 3 years, Greenpeace has gradually developed into one of the most influential environmental protection organizations in the world. The organization inherited the spirit of courage and independence of its founders, and firmly believed in making changes through actions. At the same time, through research, education and lobbying, we will promote the government, enterprises and the public to seek solutions to environmental problems. Greenpeace's environmental protection projects in China include climate and energy projects, which are dedicated to mitigating climate change caused by burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas, pollution prevention projects dedicated to eliminating toxic pollutants, and forest protection projects.
5. Friends of Earth
Friends of the Earth International, founded in Hong Kong, is one of the famous environmental NGOs and an important force in the anti-globalization movement. Like other environmental organizations, Friends of the Earth has changed the way of talking about the environment in recent years, and instead linked environmental issues with social issues and development issues, which not only expanded the scope of activities, but also expanded its influence. Since its establishment in 1983, "Friends of the Earth" has gone through a hard road. Under the trend of super materialism in Hong Kong, "Friends of the Earth" still sticks to its mission, defends public interests, upholds environmental justice, tirelessly promotes environmental protection, opposes expanding power plants, abusing pesticides, encroaching on rural land, and pays attention to over-consumption, urban air pollution, water pollution, reclamation and environmental management mistakes.
