As one of the few full-time percussion soloists in the world music stage, Li Biao is praised by international public opinion as "one of the best percussion soloists in the contemporary era" because of his special understanding and unique playing style.
He was born in Nanjing, China, and began to learn music at the age of five. When I was a child, I showed my special talent and interest in music. 65438-0982 entered the middle school attached to Beijing Central Conservatory of Music to study percussion instruments. 1988 Upon graduation, as the first batch of public percussion students in China, he was selected by the Ministry of Culture of China to study under Professor Gifford at the Moscow Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky National Conservatory of Music in the former Soviet Union. When I graduated, I got a first-class master's degree in music from Russia. 1995, received a scholarship from the German National Cultural Foundation and came to Germany to study at the Munich National Conservatory of Music. When I was a student, I won many awards in music competitions, including 1993 Silver Award in the 1st International Great God Percussion Competition and 1995 International Alama Modern Music Festival. He was the first China percussion player to win an international music competition.
As a concert soloist, Li Biao has a wide range of repertoire and percussion instruments. From percussion works in different periods to percussion concertos, the repertoire includes percussion works written for him by many composers inspired by his performance. Li Biao plays all kinds of percussion instruments, from xylophone to Latin America, Asia and Africa. At concerts, he often plays as many as 50 or 60 musical instruments, showing the audience a brand-new music space. He has performed solo in many famous music festivals, such as Schleicher Vico-Hoynstein Music Festival, Avian Music Festival, Donauatm Music Festival, Badfrishhof Music Festival, Bade-Kisingen Music Festival, Japan's Mount Fuji Music Festival, Zagreb Modern Music Festival, Michelangeli Music Festival, Berlin Philharmonic Hall 2002 Percussion Night and so on. As a soloist, he has successfully cooperated and toured with many orchestras in the world, such as Berlin Philharmonic, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bulgarian National Symphony Orchestra, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, German International Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish National Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Chamber Orchestra, London Brass Orchestra, China Philharmonic Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, China Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. His performances have covered more than 70 countries and regions.
He has repeatedly played percussion concertos in the most influential classical music column in Europe, Paying Attention to Classical Music, and recorded percussion solo works for many large European radio stations. EMI, Teldec and Deutsche Welle recorded his records. At the same time, Li Biao held lectures and master classes in many conservatories in Europe, the United States and Japan, and served as a judge of international percussion competitions for many times.
In order to accelerate the development of percussion in China, he was invited by the Central Conservatory of Music to become a professor of percussion in this school in 2003, and was hired as a professor of percussion by the Hans-isler National Conservatory of Music in Berlin in 2006, becoming the first China percussion musician to be a professor in a world-class conservatory of music.
At the closing ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Li Biao was invited to perform and record music before the closing ceremony. In 2008 and 2009, under the sponsorship of Mercedes-Benz, Li Biao led his percussion band to perform successfully in China 12 cities. Wherever you go, there is a local love for percussion. From April to May, 2009, Li Biao held 22 concerts in eight European countries, which became an inter-generational tour.
In 2008, Li Biao was awarded "National Spiritual Creator Honor Award" by Mercedes-Benz -AMG- Life magazine, and "2009 China Taste Success Person of the Year" by Bazaar Men in 2009.
Recently, Li Biao's major concerts include the 1st International Percussion Festival held at the National Center for the Performing Arts on 20 10, Europe and Asia tour, and the planned world tour with world conductor Eisenbach.
