[ edit this paragraph] introduction
Because there is a golden three-legged crow in the sun, people in ancient times took "the sun" as another name for the sun, also known as "Red Sun". For example, Han Yu's poem in the Tang Dynasty: "The sun just came out of the bottom of the sea"; Bai Juyi's poem: "The white rabbit walks while the red and black phases are in progress" (the moon and the sun chase each other). The ancients also used the metaphor of "flying rabbits walking" to describe how fast the days passed. Han Yu's poem "Li gave Zhang Eleven Departments" reads: "When the sun came to the bottom of the sea, Zhu Hui scattered the green clouds."
[ Edit this paragraph] Myth Story
In the era of Emperor Yao in ancient times, ten suns suddenly appeared in the sky, only scorched the land and dried up the grass, which caused a terrible drought and made the people miserable.
Emperor Yao prayed to the Heaven Emperor and asked for help. The Emperor of Heaven sent Yi to help Emperor Yao.
Yi, also known as Hou Yi, is a divine man who is good at archery. When Hou Yi left the Emperor of Heaven, the Emperor of Heaven gave him a red bow and a white quiver full of arrows.
Hou Yi came to earth with his wife Heng E. Heng E, later called Chang 'e, is a very beautiful woman. When Emperor Yao met them, he was overjoyed and expressed his warmest welcome, and demanded that his divine power be exerted immediately to punish the naughty sun.
Hou Yi was very proud of the compliment and request of Emperor Yao. He immediately took out the bow and arrow given by the Emperor, went to the square, aimed at one of the ten suns in the sky, and shot it out with a whoosh arrow. At first, nothing happened. After a while, I saw the sun suddenly burst open, and the fire burst, scattering some golden feathers. Then there was a crash, and a mass of red and bright things fell. People ran over and saw that it was a huge golden three-legged crow with Hou Yi's magic arrow stuck in it. Looking at the sky, there is indeed a sun missing, and people can't help cheering and celebrating.
Hou Yi was even more proud, so he shot a second arrow, and another sun fell, which once again caused earth-shaking cheers. Then, the third arrow, the fourth arrow … shot up one by one, and the sun fell one by one, and people cheered endlessly. The air immediately turned cold, and the disaster of scorching drought and dryness was about to be lifted.
of course, emperor Yao was extremely happy. However, when he saw that there was only one sun left in the sky, and Hou Yi's interest in archery seemed to be not exhausted, he was anxious and quickly drew all the remaining arrows from Hou Yi's quiver. In this way, Hou Yi was reminded, leaving a sun, otherwise, it would become a dark world, which would be in trouble.
