1. How to distinguish the authenticity of IWC watches

1. Look at the movement:

The interior of the genuine IWC watch movement is clean, while the fake IWC watch movement is clean inside. The inside of the movement is not clean, there will be fingerprints, hair, and even copper shavings. The movement is secure within the components of the case. Genuine IWC watches will have clear and corresponding trademark words on the movement pendulum or inner plate, while counterfeit watches will not have trademark words on the movement arm or inner plate, and if they do, they will be very rough and cannot be seen clearly.

2. Look at the appearance:

The trademark and writing on the dial and back cover of the genuine IWC watch are clear and complete, while the trademark writing on the dial and back cover of the counterfeit watch is blurred. The number of diamonds on the genuine watch and the number of diamonds in the movement will match what is marked on the dial. The number of diamonds on the dial of the counterfeit watch will not match the number of diamonds in the movement.

The material of the genuine IWC watch and the case are consistent with what is marked on the back cover of the watch. The glass on the watch is clear and smooth, the edges and corners of the case components are not sharp, and the coating has no bubbles and will not fall off. The counterfeit watches have rough edges and corners, the coating is blistered and will fall off, and the accessories will also break.

3. Look at the watch glass:

The glass of IWC watches is generally made of sapphire crystal glass. The easiest way to distinguish is to tap the glass surface with your fingers. The sapphire crystal makes a crisp sound. It is inaccurate to detect whether it is sapphire glass by simply using water droplets.

4. Look at the digital number markings:

Look carefully at all the numbers-related markings on the bottom cover of the watch. Fake watches usually have no rules, and may even be different from those of real watches. The number of digits does not match. Genuine watches are each individually numbered.

5. Change the label after reading:

Look at the factory label on the bottom of the watch. Usually there will be a brand logo on the label of a famous watch, as well as a watch model number. Some watches will also have laser anti-counterfeiting on the bottom label.

6. Look at the subtle details of the appearance:

IWC watches must first carefully observe the appearance of the watch, including the polishing of the appearance. Look at whether the polishing technique of the watch is delicate. The polishing of famous watches is very particular, while the craftsmanship of fake watches is far from it. Looking at the fonts, the fonts on real watches are full, while those on fake watches appear to lack confidence. Look at the functions. Most fake watches don’t put much effort into their functions. This is the breakthrough point to see through the fake watches.

Look at the hands. Genuine hands can be distinguished from fake ones by their length, thickness, shape and material. Looking at the dial, the commonly used dial techniques for high-end watches include enamel, guilloché, metal radiation dial, shell dial, etc. Diamonds and setting techniques: Look at setting techniques, diamond quality and size.

7. Look at the watch box and certificate:

The value of a watch can also be seen from the watch box in which it is placed. The more advanced the watch, the more expensive it is. The box will also be elegant. The certificate will contain the watch model and unique serial number. This certificate is also called a "birth certificate". Some brands of watch certificates also use pinhole drilling technology to stamp the serial number and model of the watch on the certificate to prevent counterfeiting.
