In 1951, after the local state-owned Moutai Distillery was established, it applied to register the "Gongnong Brand" Moutai trademark.

On July 16, 1953, the Central Administration for Industry and Commerce issued an approval letter notifying Guizhou Provincial Monopoly Company Renhuai Moutai Distillery: "The declared 'Gongnong' trademark and Fujian Yilong Distillery have been submitted for approval. The 'Gongnong' brand name is the same and cannot be approved."

The first wine tasting event was held in China in 1952. ***103 kinds of samples were received, including 19 kinds of liquor, 16 kinds of wine, 9 kinds of brandy, 28 kinds of prepared wine, 24 kinds of medicinal wine, and 7 kinds of miscellaneous wine. The first wine tasting meeting was held in the fourth quarter, and the results were announced in 1953.
