Variety source:
According to the investigation, white willow pigs are produced at the intersection of North China pigs and Central China pigs. The sources of pig breeds are complex, including black pigs from Hunchun and Yingshan in Hubei in the north, plum pigs from Huangmei in Hubei in the west, and Pengze and Poyang pigs from Jiangxi in the south.
Historically, there was a habit of crossing northern black pigs with Poyang flower pigs. After long-term careful breeding management and strict breeding by working people, it has bred excellent local pig breeds with six white characteristics, which are resistant to green roughage and strong disease resistance. With the intensification of industrialization, there are basically no captive pigs in rural areas, which led to the endangered situation more than ten years ago. However, in recent years, with the vigorous protection and expansion of species, the number has gradually increased.
