In October 2013, a design solicitation campaign was held targeting ordinary citizens, which not only attracted the attention and participation of citizens, but also collected a large number of design ideas. After the International Olympic Committee received the emblem design case in December last year, it conducted relevant inspections to confirm whether there were similar designs. It was then finally recognized as the PyeongChang Olympic Games emblem on January 21. The International Olympic Committee and the PyeongChang Winter Olympics Organizing Committee have registered trademark rights for the Winter Olympics emblem with South Korea and other countries around the world.
