When applying for a Madrid trademark, you need to pay attention to the following matters:
1. It must be based on domestic trademark registration, preferably a domestic trademark that has obtained a trademark registration certificate. According to the "central strike principle", if the domestic basic trademark becomes invalid within 5 years after submission, the foreign trademark applied through the Madrid system will also be deemed to have expired.
2. All application information for Madrid international trademark registration needs to be consistent with domestic application information.
3. Goods and services must not exceed the scope of basic registered goods/services;
4. Applicants must have certain subject qualifications. Applicants from Hong Kong, China and Macau cannot apply for Madrid through the Trademark Office, while applicants from Taiwan, China can apply through the Trademark Office;
5. Israel and Syria cannot be specified at the same time, otherwise Syria will be affected by the Israeli issue. Rejection (political and religious issues);
6. If the basic registration is being transferred or changed, the transfer/change application can only be submitted in the name/address of the transferee or changed after submitting the transfer/change application domestically.
