Volkswagen once acquired all the shares of Rolls-Royce. At that time, Rolls-Royce Company was divided into two parts, one made engines and the other had nothing to do with cars.

There are two brands in the engine manufacturing part, one is Rolls Royce and the other is Bentley. Later, Volkswagen Group authorized the brand of Rolls-Royce to BMW, but retained Bentley, which is now the brand ownership: Bentley belongs to Volkswagen, while Rolls-Royce belongs to BMW.
