(1) Summit: The summit of heads of state and government, the highest authority, also known as the Islamic Summit, is held irregularly.

(2) Foreign Ministers' Meeting: held once a year in a member country.

(3) Permanent Secretariat: located in Jeddah. There are also Islamic Development Bank, Islamic Solidarity Foundation, Islamic News Agency and World Islamic Education Center, Jerusalem Committee, Islamic Peace Committee, Islamic economic and trade, scientific and technological cooperation and other standing committees, Islamic courts and Islamic Development Foundation.
