History of Cleveland Institute of Art
Cleveland Institute of Art, founded in 1882, is one of the most prestigious art schools in the United States, a pioneer of American art design schools, and was rated as one of the top design schools in the world by Business Week. The college is a member of the Association of Independent Art and Design Colleges (AICAD), which consists of 36 leading art colleges from North America and around the world. It is also a founding member of American Association of Art and Design Colleges and American Private Art and Design Colleges. Cleveland College of Art is an old-fashioned art school with a relatively pure undergraduate course. At first, there was only one teacher and one student in the attic of the old Cleveland Concert Hall. After several mobilizations, he became an art school, and he was already familiar with it. 1949 and 1956 were officially called Cleveland Institute of Art and moved to the current site of Cleveland University Circle. The Institute purchased the Ford Automobile Assembly Plant 198 1 years ago, and now it is a national historical site. It has been renovated and renamed as Joseph mccullough Center, which includes painting, glass, biomedical art, ceramics, communication design and illustration, photography department/video, time (digital and time media), and so on. The East Street of George Gonder's building is the department of jewelry and metal, painting, interior design, industrial design, optical fiber and material research, printmaking, foundation and liberal arts (academic).
