What does Hui Gong mean?

Gathering together means gathering together. When holding a gathering, practitioners gather in one place, offer offerings together, and concentrate as much as possible together. It is easy to understand that group practice can arouse more confidence in practice than solitary practice. Generally speaking, gathering together can produce greater results than practicing alone in a room. This is the meaning of Gong Gong. My mother temple - the Sera Monastery Academy in Lhasa, Tibet can be compared to a broom made of straw. You can't sweep much ground with a straw. However, just bunching up a bundle of straw can quickly sweep the entire meditation hall clean. Compared with outstanding practitioners such as Milarepa, we certainly lack that ability. Of course these great virtues can practice alone, but our level is still far from theirs! It can be seen that the benefits are great if we come together to cultivate concentration. The power generated by a hundred people's hearts gathered in the same place can be said to be extraordinary. In the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, whether it is to repent of karma or to understand the teachings, worship can produce great results. When you recite the Dharma text, you will find that it contains many practices. Take the Master Gathering Puja as an example. This method includes the entire lam-rim method, from beginning to end, without missing a single step. In daily practice, we may not make any progress in contemplating the lam-rim, but during the Gathering, based on the favorable environment around us, we suddenly find ourselves making rapid progress and realizing certain truths. Many people came to understand the teachings simply because they were infected by the atmosphere in the gathering. We often force ourselves to practice this method or that method, but often we get nothing because we do not allow the mind to fully develop. We can create this opportunity by gathering together for a puja. When the door of the heart is opened, we can jump up and achieve all kinds of achievements like a magnet. This statement is absolutely true. The most important thing when practicing sadhana or any method is to create the right atmosphere. You may participate in a Dharma gathering hundreds of times and still never find the trick. At a certain moment, when you find the key point, your mind will change instantly. Therefore, to mature spiritually, we need to create opportunities. In Buddhist philosophy, we talk about the law of karma: if you accumulate good deeds, you will get this or that kind of good reward. In short, if you want to achieve a certain result, you must create the right atmosphere. For example, build a greenhouse so that flowers can grow there without being destroyed by hail. The same goes for our childish minds. We must create an appropriate environment to allow the mind to develop organically, and at the same time, we must take good care of our thoughts. The protection our souls need when we come together in a puja and exchange our thoughts with each other is the protection we need. In Tibetan Buddhism, we often talk about the kindness of being like a mother. Take this cup of Darjeeling tea from India as an example. I don’t know how many people have asked us to taste this cup of tea. Planting, picking tea, selecting, packaging, shipping, retailing, and cooking tea all consume a lot of manpower. From studying the teachings of the lam-rim, we know that every sentient being, whether directly or indirectly, enables you to drink this cup of tea. Not just this cup of tea, all happiness, from the smallest happiness in samsara to the eternal happiness of liberation and enlightenment, comes from other sentient beings. Therefore, in order to understand the teachings, we must create a suitable atmosphere. We can do this by coming together in one place and uniting our hearts. The power of this kind of practice can deepen our understanding of Buddhism, which I think is great. We come from different races and each of us develops in a different way. Even though our faces are different, our hearts can still communicate with each other in the same place. Parents may not be able to communicate with their children, but we come from different countries, but we can understand each other and communicate sincerely. I think it is really good. Another meaning of Hui Gong is a party. We share our innate wisdom with each other, and this is the real party. Puja is a ritual in which believers pray to their masters and Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for blessings or assistance. Performing a puja can remove mundane, internal and secret obstacles, as well as adverse conditions for mundane and supermundane achievements. Worldly obstacles affect daily life, including interpersonal relationships, business, etc. Internal obstacles hinder physical and mental health; secret obstacles hinder us from realizing our original wisdom. Puja can also be used to help the deceased to achieve peace of mind and lead them to be reborn in a good path until liberation and enlightenment. Guru's Gathering Puja: Holding Guru's Gathering Puja not only makes the guru happy, but also expresses gratitude for the guru's kindness, because only by obtaining the guidance of the guru can we make great progress on the path to Bodhi, which shows that this method is very important. Participating in the Guru Puja not only purifies bad karma, but also accumulates vast merits. Tara Gathering Tara is "the mother of all Buddhas". The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions and three times all come from Tara’s wisdom of realizing the true truth.

In the Tara Puja, in addition to making offerings, we also pray to Tara to remove internal and external obstacles to our practice and enable us to understand the teachings. The Medicine Buddha Gathering Offering The Medicine Buddha vows to cure the illnesses of all living beings and to lend a helping hand to those who are dying. According to classic descriptions, the Medicine Buddha holds a bowl in his hand, containing five kinds of sacred medicines. Holding the Medicine Buddha Puja can remove health obstacles, enable smooth operation, and help the deceased to be saved.
